Are you struggling with rage, fear, anxiety or hurting from being numb and depressed while just trying to survive day-to-day? Maybe you've sought help within the mental health industrial complex and been harmed before. Your past isn’t past for you, and you want to scream, cry, burn it all down. Whether you're dealing with the current parade of horrors or long-held painful thoughts and feelings, you know that you're ready to make a change, and you want a collaborator on your journey.
I am a trauma-informed, abolitionist therapist. I work with neurodivergent and queer folks ages 16+ with a special emphasis on addressing suicidality, trauma, dissociation, and LGBTQ+ issues while paying attention to systems of harm. My work incorporates acceptance and commitment therapy, EMDR, and somatic understanding.
My approach to therapy includes helping clients identify their strengths and develop new skills within a systems lens. I believe in the importance of accepting our emotions, connecting with others, and building community. I incorporate bodily awareness and mindfulness techniques into our treatment. If you are looking for a co-conspirator, let's meet.
My interests include reading a wide range of fiction and nonfiction books, watching horror movies, writing poetry, and taking my dog for muddy walks around Johnson County.
