Introduction

Thoughts and feelings can be so heavy and isolating at times. You are welcome and invited here to share your story. Together, we can explore your thoughts and experiences in a safe space and unpack those overwhelming feelings. Together, with various therapy models, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness techniques, we can work to lift the clouds that are making thinking, feeling, and living difficult at this time. I offer the opportunity to be vulnerable, honest, and uncomfortable in a non-judgmental and non-biased setting.

Clinical Interests

My areas of interest include working with high school and college students, adults, and older adults who are experiencing symptoms of grief, depression, and anxiety. I work with clients who are in transition (retirement, job change, school changes, life changes). Transition can be very difficult with a lack of support, lack of identifiable activities that are pleasurable, and grief for the past as well as anxiety for the present and future.

I work with clients who are experiencing identity challenges by exploring all of the intersectionalities that make our identities and how to become more comfortable with those identities. I work with clients who have been adopted, who may be finding relationships have been challenging throughout life, they may have a sense of abandonment that has been internalized and feel that people will inevitably leave them, and they may even feel complicated feelings years or decades after adoption. I also work with individuals who experience low self-esteem, which many of us have at some point in life!

I want to help you build a stronger foundation that highlights your skills and strengths. As an adopted Latina who grew up in an  LGBTQIA+ family, I am honored to work with BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and LGBTQIA+ individuals. All are welcome in my practice.

I utilize the following therapy models: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Therapy, Bibliotherapy (utilizing books), Motivational Interviewing, Talk Therapy

Personal Interests

You’ll often find me listening to one-hit wonders and pop music from the 90’s and early 00’s, as well as Broadway and Classical music. Other interests include never stopping watching The Office and Parks and Rec, binging shows, and all things horror and Halloween. I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling exploring the Western deserts and mountains.
