Group therapy can improve mental health and encourage personal growth by helping people develop better social and communication skills. It is a place where participants can learn from each other and benefit from community support. Fun, often funny and engaging group activities help participants practice relationship skills in a safe space. Through reciprocal conversations and role-playing activities, participants can get in-the-moment feedback and learn as they go. Groups strive to create and maintain a positive, optimistic atmosphere. Problem-solving, compromise, perspective taking, theory of mind, recognizing various emotions and friendship skills are critically important for success in both personal and workplace relationships. Every relationship is a work-in-progress, whether it’s keeping the sparks alive in a romantic relationship or maintaining healthy role identities in a family setting.
