Introduction
Life can be really hard. Maybe you can’t stop thinking about that argument you had with your friend. Maybe health issues and the financial burden of credit card debt are bearing down on you. Worries play like a record in your mind, even when you try to stop. You’re beginning to feel hopeless and depressed and you’re not sure if anyone actually cares.
A certain amount of stress is normal in life, but you deserve to also experience moments of joy, peace of mind, and clarity. The good news is that therapy can help. Sometimes the hardest part is taking the first step and reaching out to a counselor, but the benefits can be life-changing.
My role as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you feel validated, assisted, and encouraged to follow your dreams, even when you don’t know how. You don’t have to feel alone in this. I want you to feel better, while honoring your autonomy to discover your own solutions. If you’ve been in therapy before, I’ll ask about your previous experiences: What did you like? What would you like to be different?
I think the most gratifying part of my work is sharing with clients, seeing them self-actualize, and seeing them do for themselves and the benefits of that work in their lives. The thing I enjoy most is knowing I can be there for them in the most basic of ways… listening, reflecting back to them what I’m hearing, and encouraging them.
Clinical Interests
I enjoy working with clients with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or any mood disorder. I like the DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) approach, which involves teaching stress control, mindfulness, and fostering skills to self-regulate intense emotions. My earlier studies in physiology and health have helped inform my holistic approach to therapy, considering traditional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
Personal Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy being in nature, including hiking, camping, and walks in local parks. I also love traveling and expressing myself creatively through a variety of performance arts.
